Finding a New SRE Teacher - The Advertising Process
Summary: A guide of the process to find a new SRE Teacher.

PRIOR to Advertising
1) Meet with local school principal and request a letter of confirmation outlining:
a) Number of days the schools ministry worker will be operating
b) Year groups the schools worker will be teaching e.g. Years 7-9 fortnightly lessons,and once a term seminars for Years 10-12
a) Is registered with the relevant child protection screening agency
b) Sets objective, job description for teachers and closing date for applications
c) Determines price range to be spent for advertising
d) Nominates a Board member to be the contact person to distribute application and referee forms (See Application form_example)
e) Delegate the Executive Board to discuss and sift through application forms to determine who are the successful interview applicants
f) Determine TIME when to advertise for a new schools worker position. Ideally, in Term 3 and early Term 4, for the following year. Final year Bible College and Christian Education faculty students are already looking for jobs during this part of the year.

a) Local church bulletins and service announcements
b) Word of mouth
c) Bible Colleges e.g. Morling Baptist College, Presbyterian College, SMBC
d) Email PDF
e) Denominational publications e.g. Southern Cross (NB. For points 5-8 keep wording short to reduce cost of advertising)
f) Local newspaper
g) Christian radio station e.g. 103.2FM
h) Websites e.g. www.ministryblue.com.au
